Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge overview

Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge enjoys a lofty position, perched on a hill overlooking Lake Nakuru and the surrounding National Park. It's an ideal spot for birders and wildlife lovers alike. The wildlife in the park is diverse and includes both black and white rhinos and the somewhat rare Rothschild's giraffe. Around 450 species of birds have been recorded here, including the seasonal influx of thousands of flamingos.

From its superb vantage point on the hillside visitors to the lounge, bar and dining room can enjoy picturesque views over the lake through the large windows. Outside, the sheltered terraces provide secluded places to sit and relax, and of course the views from here are just as stunning. Maximising on the vistas the infinity pool overlooks the lake too. It has a convenient pool bar, so you don't have to venture far for refreshments.

The 62 guest rooms are spacious and equipped with en-suite bathrooms. All rooms have private balconies where you can sit and enjoy some privacy as you sip a chilled drink from the minibar. Full length windows provide panoramic views of the park, the lake and beyond. Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge welcomes families; facilities include a separate children's pool, a special menu for youngsters, a selection of board games, and baby sitting can be arranged.

While staying at Lake Nakuru Sopa lodge, you can enjoy nature walks around the lodge or in nearby conservancies. Venture further afield and discover the park on a game drive, it's a wonderful area for birding with more than 450 species of birds recorded here including the lesser and greater flamingos that flock here in their thousands at certain times of year.


Open: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge is open all year.

Location: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge is located on the western edge of the Rift Valley in Lake Nakuru National Park. It is about 185km from Nairobi by road, a two hour drive. You can fly from Nairobi to Naishi airstrip in 40 minutes.

Rooms: There are 62 guest rooms. Each is tastefully furnished with en-suite bathroom and private balcony. The rooms are also equipped with telephones, mini-bars, hair dryers. Most are twin/doubles, triples can be arranged on request.

Activities: Activities at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge focus mainly on game drives in the surrounding park.

Facilities: The lodge has spacious main areas including lounge, 2 bars including a pool bar, dining room and outdoor, sheltered terraces. There is a gift shop, infinity swimming pool, and sunbathing terrace.

Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Babysitters and special meals are available on request.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: WiFi is available in rooms and public places.
