Full board
Another day of game viewing. Tsavo East is home to great herds of elephant, lion, kudu, rhino, buffalo and giraffe. Bird life is equally rich, with weavers, hornbills, sunbirds, rollers, and raptors just a fraction of the very many different species frequently seen.
Tsavo is also home of an African legend - that of the Maneaters of Tsavo. The story is based on a grim piece of history; over the course of a year, 120 workers were killed by two large lions while building a railway bridge over the river Tsavo at the end of the 19th century.
Today you will be collected from Satoa Camp and driven to Pinewood Village on the coast just south of the resort of Diani. The hotel is set amidst tropical flora and palms. Facilities include an attractive swimming pool, swim-up pool bar, several restaurants, tennis and squash courts and small shops. The water sport & dive centre can arrange scuba diving, children's scuba rangers club, deep sea fishing, kite surfing, banana boat and air glider, snorkelling, sea excursions, bike tours, kayaking and wind surfing.
Breakfast & dinner.
Enjoy lazy days in the sun. Galu is a great mix of endless white beaches interspersed with stunning rock pools teeming with life. It's not surprising that Galu Beach has earned a reputation as a Kenyan "Maldives".
This area is classified as a 'Kaya', (protected by the National Museum) due to its surrounding holy forests and sacred land which can be explored on foot.
