Tranquil Resort

Kerala & South India

Rating: Mid-range

Tranquil Resort overview

Tranquil Resort is well named. A stay here lets you reconnect with nature whether it's resting in the gardens, watching birds among the flowers and monkeys in the trees or exploring the walking trails. The resort's atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed. It's a family owned property set on a working coffee plantation, with your hosts eager to help you feel at home, from the bathrobes and slippers in you room, to sociable group meals and family dogs keeping you company.

There are just nine rooms, all with TV, hot drinks maker, en-suite bathroom and access to outdoor space. The tree house and tree villa are set high among the trees and provide particluarly memorable accommodation, each with a large balcony and fine views. Rooms vary in size and layout, with some ideal for families.

Mealtimes are a great way to get to know fellow guests as you sit around the large table where you are served local, regional and international cuisine, much of it created from produce grown on the plantation.

The grounds are perfect for exploring on foot. There are 13 different trails, varying in duration and level of difficulty from a gentle stroll to a bracing hike, offering something for everyone. Birdlife is abundant and you should see several species on your wanderings. The resort has an attractive freeform swimming pool and a jacuzzi where you can relax after time out and about. Ths spa specialises in traditional Ayurveda therapies designed to promote physical and spiritual well-being, another aspect of the tranquilty you can experience here.

Mrs. Susan Woods (02/02/2020)

"Ajay and Nisha welcome us here as family and nothing is too much trouble. This is a great location set in the coffee plantations with amazing walks and views. The rooms are all superb , the service is superb as are the meals. The most common feedback from other guests is we wish we had stayed longer and we will be coming back. Everyone is made to feel special and guests come from many parts of the world, "

Mrs Julie Ryan
"It is exactly what it says, tranquil. We did two of the walks, including one marked as difficult, clearly they have not been up Scottish mountains!! The scent of the coffee flowers and the sound of birdsong was balm after a busy period of travel. Again the food was excellent and it was nice to have a gin and tonic after several days of abstinence."
Mr. Edward Clarence
"Here one is in the lap of luxury. I found myself in the De Luxe suite, an apartment with two bathrooms. The owners, Mr. & Mrs Victor Dey were excellent hosts who always shared their meals with us. The house is beautifully furnished and as it is their and their son's home the whole place, despite the obvious luxury around, have made it very homely for their guests.I was well looked after."
