Purity is a lovely colonial-syle villa set on the shores of Lake Vembanad in the Kerala Backwaters. Formerly known as Casa Del Fauno, the property is known for its relaxed, European atmopshere. Guests can stroll through the lush spice gardens, take a swim in the pool, enjoy a refreshing drink on the veranda and enjoy a romantic lake-side dinner.
There are 14 rooms and suites. One of the last occupies the entire upper floor of the main villa and one set in a separate cottage with its own private garden, ideal for families. All rooms are furnished in a cool, contemporary style and have ample facilities including fans, air conditioning, tea and coffee making equipment, television and internet access. They also have distinctive artwork and antiques. Each room has a state-of-the-art shower room and some also have bathtubs. All rooms have a private terrace or veranda with views of the garden or the lake.
Indian, Oriental and Mediterranean cuisine is served at Purity. There are no set meal times, so guests are free to eat when, and where they wish, be this in the inner courtyard, the dining room, by the pool or lake shore or on their own veranda. Beer and wine are offered, but no spirits.
The main 'activity' at Purity is relaxation! The fragrant gardens, lovely lake views, infinity pool and sandy beach all add to the calm atmosphere. Excursions can be arranged to local attractions including Alleppey with its historic canals and sights, Mararikulam beach and local villages. Bicycles are available for further exploration. Canoeing on the lake is a great way to observe local life and see the fishermenm work their nets.
This is an imtimate spa with 2 treatment rooms, offering a full range of Ayurvedic therapies. The principles, philosophies and practices of Ayurveda are focused on the invidiual with the aim to maintain the state of health. Herbs, nutritional guidance, exercise and meditation all contribute towards the prevention of ill health and the promotion of long life and the enhancement of the quality of life.
Treatments range from a few minutes, to a full day and up to a course of 14 days. All are undertaken in consultation with an Auyurvedic doctor. Treatments include full body massage, foot massage, herbal steam baths, body soaks, herbal detoxification, mind and body relaxation therapies, intensive hair treatment and various skin treatments.

Location: Purity is located on the southwest shores of Lake Vembanad in Kerala. It is 70kms from Kochi airport. The nearest railway station is in Alleppey, 8kms away.
Rooms: There are 14 rooms in total including deluxe rooms and suites, the Vembanad suite which covers the entire 1st floor and the garden cottage, ideal for a family. All rooms have terraces and verandas overlooking the lake. The rooms feature artwork and antiques. Facilities include flatscreen TV, ‘phone, minibar, tea and coffee makers, Wi-Fi internet access, safe and air conditioning. 8 of the rooms have private sit outs and 4 have their own treatment rooms.
Activities: Take a boat trip on Lake Vembanad, excursions to the beach or the local village, explore by bike, relax by the pool. Guests can take part in cooking lessons and yoga sessions. Staff are happy to arrange excursions and activities for guests in the local area.
Facilities: There is a large outdoor swimming pool and sunbeds and a lakeside infinity pool. The hotel has well-maintained gardens, a lakefront pavilion, a yoga space and a spa offering Ayurvedic treatments. Purity offers daily breakfast. Dinner is on request. Meals are served in the sheltered courtyard, by the pool, by the lake or in the garden. Food is traditional Keralan cuisine. During the day snacks are available. In its museum/art gallery, Purity exhibits the work of the artist Abdul Kalam who specialises in Keralan culture.
