The service at Devigarh is unmatched, and the resort has won numerous awards. The imposing palace-fort dates back to 1760, and is strategically located on a hilltop with far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Since it opened as a hotel is 2000, Devigarh has established a reputation as one of the most luxurious palace-hotels in India.
In the scenic Aruvali Hills, about 45 minutes drive from Udaipur, Raas Devigarh is an 18th century fort-palace that has been meticulously restored into a luxurious resort with 39 suites. The rambling palace is a maze of terraces, courtyards and balconies and has traditional features such as turrets which contrast with the contemporary decor, based on gleaming white marble with colourful stonework and fabrics.
There are 17 Garden Suites, comfortably furnished and equipped with private verandas, are situated in the garden below the pool. The reamining suites are all in the old palace. The 16 Palace Suites are spacious, with bay windows or balconies and large gardens. There are 5 Aruvali Suites which feature a separate sitting/dining area, while the Devigarh Suite Complex has 2 bedrooms, the smaller of which is a Palace Suite and the larger of which has its own sun deck and jacuzzi. All suites are air conditioned, have ceiling fans and are feature a mixture of traditional materials and modern design with an individual theme. All have wonderful views of the valley, gardens, courtyards or fields.
The resort is equipped with its own swimming pool, gymnasium and spa and is set in extensive gardens. There is a library/sitting room where guests can relax. Devigarh is a great base for relaxing or exploring the surrounding area by car, foot, bike or horseback. Visits can also be arranged to the local village. The restaurant is famous for its fine mix of Indian, Thai and international food and has a comprehensive wine list. Dinners, lunches and sumptuous afternoon teas are sometimes served in the pretty vegetable garden. Private dinners can be arranged in various locations throughout the palace. The bar is located by the pool and serves drinks and snacks during the day.
Ila Only Spa
Enjoy pure pampering and relaxation in the beautiful setting of Devi Garh palace, run by the well-known British brand 'ila', a Sanskrit word describing the curative properties of Mother Earth. The therapies offered here are based on traditional Indian practises, and are administered to the background of soothing music. A wide range of ingredients is used, many of which are locally sourced. As well as these time-honoured treatments, the spa offers Devi Blessings, a programme of 9 special 2-hour sessions designed to calm and recalibrate the central nervous system. Treatments can be complimented by a special menu of healthy and nutritional food. The spa also offers yoga and meditation classes which can be combined with other therapies for a comprehensive healing experience.

Location: Devigarh is located in the Aravali hills in the village of Delwara in the state of Rajasthan. The nearest airport is in Udaipur, about one hour’s drive away.
Rooms: There are 39 suites, decorated with marble and semi-precious stones. Garden suites have a lobby, private garden and tented terrace. Palace suites have a courtyard and a balcony or bay window with views of the fields and hills. The spacious Aravali suites also have balconies or large bay windows and areas for private dining. All suites are equipped with minibar, tea and coffee makers, Wi-Fi internet access and TV. The premium suite, Devigarh Suite, has its own swimming pool, heated in winter, and Jacuzzi.
Activities: Guests are encourage to explore the local area on foot, by bike or horse. Staff can arrange a trip to Delwara village and the nearby Jain temples at Ranakpur or to the lake city of Udaipur. Kite flying and star gazing are possible, or relax over a good book in the library.
Facilities: The hotel offers multi-cuisine dining, with an emphasis on Thai food. Meals can be enjoyed in the restaurant, in the vegetable garden, in the privacy of the suite or in a number of venues around the palace. There is a well-stocked bar which serves a range of snacks as well as drinks. The spa offers a fusion of Indian and Mediterranean treatments. The hotel has a library with books and CDs and a gift shop. Outside there are 5 courtyards providing ample to space to rest and relax. The main swimming pool has a sundeck with open and shaded seating. The on-site Ila Spa has indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, Himalayan salt cave sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool, which is heated in the winter months. Other on-site facilities include currency exchange and laundry.

This was an abandoned fort which now attracts tourism to the local area which in turn brings benefits to the local villagers.
