A short distance from the highway between Jodhpur and Jaipur, close to the small town of Nimaj, RAAS Chhatra Sagar enjoys a unique location in rural Rajasthan with 16 tents straddling a 100 year old dam. This idyllic spot was originally used for hunting parties by the Nimaj family who still manage the tented camp, and the style is the epitome of elegance of a bygone era.
The accommodation here is extremely comfortable and beautifully presented, with all tents featuring traditional hand-painted designs. They are spacious and have air conditioning and heating to regulate the temperature. Each tent has a private viewing area from which you can watch the abundant birdlife. All tents have en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower.
Chhatra Sagar is a very peaceful place to spend a few days, relaxing in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of Indian towns. You can tour the local villages and learn about farming and shepherd communities directly from the villagers. It is also an ideal location for birdwatching with over 200 species, and birdwatching walks around the lake are organised from here. Back at Chhatra Sagar you can relax by the infinity pool, enjoy refreshing swims and spend time at the spa.
