Ananda is located close to the holy town of Rishikesh and an hour's drive from the domestic airport at Dehradun from where there are daily flights making the short journey to Delhi. Accommodation is a mix of rooms, suites and villas. There are 70 deluxe rooms, with a dressing area, walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with sunken bathtub. All rooms have a private balcony. The suites are spacious and feature either a private garden or terrace. Some also have a jacuzzi. The 5 villas are luxurious with sitting rooms, bathrooms with sauna and their won private heated pool.
An excellent restaurant serves both Indian and Western food, using many locally grown organic herbs and vegetables. It also offers Ayurveduic cuisine, which takes into account the activity levels, medical condition and lifestyle of the individual. The restaurant includes an outdoor dining area and a treetop deck. Ananda is world famous for its spa which offers over 79 types of body and beauty treatments. The spa combines age-old therapies such as the Indian science of Ayurveda with modern spa technology. Its treatments are designed to promote harmony between the physical and medical realms of the body. The full trained staff and physicians offer healing and pampering treatments, as well as advice and guidance on nutrition and exercise. Theapies are personalised according to the needs of each guest and can be deisgned to to de-stress, de-toxify, cleanse and relax. Anti-ageing and weight loss programmes are also available. Yoga and meditation are popular, in the most relaxing and beautiful of settings. There is a temperature-controlled outdoor lap pool and a 16-station gym.

Rooms: There are 78 rooms, suites and private villas. All have en-suite bathrooms with a sunken bathtub and separate shower. They are all air conditioned and feature a minibar, tea and coffee making equipment, telephone, safe and television. The rooms have balconies and the suites have private gardens or terraces. The villas are a mix of 1 and 2-bedroom properties. All have a private pool and a sauna in the bathroom. All rooms, suites and villas have free Wi-Fi internet access.
Activities: The spa offers a vast range of treatments, fitness activities, wellness activities, beauty treatments and yoga and meditation. It has some 24 treatment rooms, 2 relaxation rooms and 4 consultation rooms. It specialises in Ayurvedic treatments which include massage and diet aimed at healing, cleansing, relaxing and revitalising the patient. Other activities available include billiards, golf, cooking classes and cultural programmes. Other activities which can be arranged locally include trekking, white water rafting and excursions to Rajaji National Park and Chilla National Park.
Facilities: Anandaâ€™s main restaurant serves India, Asian and Western cuisine. It features a treetop deck, for al fresco eating, Guests can also enjoy light meals, snacks and drinks at the Pavillion. There is also an elegant tea lounge and a winter garden where afternoon tea can be served. There is a large swimming pool and sundeck with sunloungers. Guests are welcome to use the library which has a wide range of literary and historical books as well as contemporary works on health and wellbeing. Other facilities include an amphitheatre, billiard room. yoga pavilions and landscaped gardens. The boutique sells spa products, toiletries, silk, art objects, organic food and music books.
Dining: Meals are taken at individual tables.
Children: Children below the age of 14 are not permitted at Ananda. The spa treatments are available to those aged 18 and over.
