Grand Hotel

Galapagos & the mainland coast

Rating: Mid-range

Grand Hotel overview

The Grand Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Guayaquil, within sight of the cathedral, just minutes from the Malecon wit its shops, restaurants, gardens and museums, and a short walk from Bolivar Park known for its large population of iguanas. It's also just a 15 minute drive from the airport.

The 182 rooms and suite are equipped with all the amenities expected of a modern, city centre hotel, including cable TV, IDD phone, Wi-Fi internet access, fridge and en-suite bathroom.

The hotel has 2 restaurants: one is a 24-hour cafe offering a wide range of hot and cold beverages, light meals and snacks, and the other is a more formal, multi-cuisine restaurant. There's also a cosy bar where guests gather for pre- and post-dinner drinks. Outside there's a courtyard with a swimming pool, waterfall and vertical garden complete with a large mosaic iguana. There are terraces where you can sit, and the area is flanked on one side by the large stained glass window of the cathedral.

Mr. William Bennett (18/05/2018)

"Room good for an overnight stay although air con which was necessary was very noisy. Good breakfast. Helpful staff."

Mr. Mark Tollitt (11/05/2018)
"Great central location, good service, big rooms. unusual but glam swimming pool!"
Mrs. Diane Bryant (20/02/2018)
"Very friendly staff and excellent food in the restaurant. A good position in downtown Guayaquil for access to the waterfront, museums, botanic gardens etc but not many restaurants nearby ( not a problem as food in hotel both good and reasonably priced)"
J & C Morley (29/01/2018)
"All good here"
Shirley Chapman (15/01/2018)
"Very corporate hotel but there is little choice in Guayaquil. Not safe to be walking out at night and we were given very strict instructions which streets were patrolled by police and therefore where it was safe to walk. Food very average "
