San Jose is a city of 1.5 million people and the port of entry for most visitors to the country. It has many museums, including the National Museum, Gold Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art.
Many architectural styles are evident on a walk through the city, these include the impressive Teatro Nacional which dates back to 1897, the Renaissance-style Catedral Metropolitana and the late 19th and early 20th century coffee-growers’ mansions in Barrio Amon. There are many pleasant parks. The city has a broad selection of restaurants offering local and international dishes.

The flying time is about 12 hours from the UK. There are now direct flights from the UK using British Airways. We work with all the major airlines and can offer flights from the UK or via the USA, Panama or a European hub. With the connection times you are looking at around 15 or 16 hours.
Language: Spanish is the official language. English is widely spoken throughout Costa Rica
