When it comes to stunning views, Hotel Antumalal doesn't disappoint. It's located atop a peaceful wooded hill overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Villarrica. Add to this the backdrop of a snow capped volcano and a 5 hectare private park and you have a nature lover's paradise. You're free to wander the paths, enjoy the magnificent viewpoints, the vegetable garden and the waterfalls, rockpools and flowerbeds which change with the seasons.
The building is heavily influenced by the Bauhaus style and sits surrounded by beautiful gardens. In addition to the main hotel four chalets lie hidden in the gardens, each one different from the next, but with the same architectural style and construction using wood, rock and cement which allows them to blend with the existing main building. The Restaurant Parque Antumalal and the outdoor terrace enjoy those same magnificent views of the lake. Here you are served dishes created with an innovative flair, combining traditional meals with a modern twist and serving them with excellent wines to complement the food. After dinner guests often migrate to the Don Guillermo Bar with its inviting atmosphere, quirky soft leather seats and crackling fire. Below the main building, further down the slope, is the spa and the indoor/outdoor pool.
The original hotel building has a selection of 13 rooms set up as doubles or twins along with three suites, two of which are perfect for families. All rooms have lake views and large picture windows. A heavy use of local wood in the decor makes for a cosy ambience. Furniture is modern and the rooms are uncluttered, with a fireplace keeping the chill away. The bathroom has modern fixtures and fittings with bathrobes, hairdryer and toiletries provided. The chalets cater for families or small groups, sleeping four, five and six guests. They have kitchenettes and private terraces which look out onto the lake. They offer visitors a greater degree of privacy.
The hotel offers a variety of guided tours in Pucon and the surrounding area, from birding to hiking in the surrounding area and visits to Villarrica and Huerquehue National Parks. Relieve any aches and pains with a visit to the geothermic hot springs where you can take a dip in one of seventeen pools surrounded by nature, or if you prefer you can visit one of the hot springs resorts for an afternoon of relaxation in a variety of indoor and outdoor pools. Other tours are on offer through local operators and can be organised by the hotel.
