Cumbres Puerto Varas seems to tower over the shores of Lake Llanquihue from its raised position. Beyond the lake is the Osorno Volcano adding to the postcard views afforded to guests at this modern hotel.
There are 90 rooms and suites in total, divided into a variety of categories. The standard rooms have partial views of the lake, whereas the others have panoramic views, all of which can be enjoyed through the large picture windows. The rooms have been decorated in a modern, neutral palette. The use of natural wood and soft textures provides a homely feel and is typical of southern Chile. The large windows make the most of the dramatic views.
The cosy intimate feel continues into the main areas. The lounge has plenty of seating areas, comfy couches with deep cushions and a roaring fire creating the perfect relaxing ambience after a hard day of sight-seeing. Head Chef Pablo Galves presides over the kitchen. The restaurant serves an array of Chilean specialities, and international cuisine incorporating fresh local produce and seafood. After dinner, you can retire to the casual bar where you can indulge in fine Chilean wines and a variety of tasty cocktails. In case you need to burn off any calories, there is a small gym and a small indoor pool and spa.
Cumbres Puerto Varas is perfectly placed for you to explore the area and the enjoy the many excursions on offer, these include hiking, fly-fishing and exploring several of the beautiful lakes and rivers in the area.

Location: The hotel has an elevated position on the shore of Lake Llanquihue in the Lake District. It is a 20 minute drive from the town of Puerto Varas. The nearest airport is Puerto Montt, about an hour away.
Rooms: There are 90 guest rooms made up of standard, superior, luxury rooms, suites and a presidential suite. All have a floor to ceiling window overlooking the lake (though standard rooms only have a partial view), TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, minibar, air conditioning, safe and en-suite bathroom. Some of the luxury rooms have a terrace overlooking the lake and the suites enjoy the addition of a jacuzzi
Activities: The hotel’s guides offer a range of excursions and activities to choose from. These range from full day tours to ones taking just a few hours. Trips include a boat trip across the Chacao channel, hiking in Vicente Perez Rosales National Park or cultural visits to local communities and trips to archaeological sites. These can be booked and paid for locally if you wish.

Dining: The hotel restaurant has an excellent reputation for serving quality dishes using local produce. Monday to Saturday is a la carte with a variety of meats and seafood dishes on offer, Sunday is a delicious buffet affair with an array of local and international dishes on offer.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome, but there are no specific facilities or activities for children.
Health: There is no malaria in Chile.
