Chatrium Hotel overview

Located beside Kandawgyi Lake, also known as Royal Lake, this modern hotel has excellent facilities and a wide choice of accommodation, making it popular with visitors to Yangon. You have Kandawgyi Nature Park with its lovely gardens as well as the lake on your doorstep, and Shwedagon Pagoda is just a short walk away.

Rooms and suites are endowed with all the features you'd expect of a high calibe property, such as complimentary Wi-Fi, TV, phone, minibar and hot drinks facilities. The bathroom comes with a range of biodegradable toilteries, plus a bathrobe and slippers, and you have your own balcony from which to look out over the city or lake. Suites are larger, with living areas for secluded relaxation.

When you want a break from city sightseeing you can relax by the pool, enjoy a swim, or treat yourself to a massage or beauty treatment at Nemita Spa. There's a gym on site, with instructors on hand to offer advice and encouragement. 

You're spoilt for choice when it comes to dining. In the main restaurant you are offered international cuisine, set menus and a la carte options, and there are specialists Chinese and Japanese restaurants for dim sum,  sushi, sashimi and other delectable Asian dishes. The lobby lounge has an assortment of snacks and drinks, and live music is played on the sunset terrace on some evenings.

Open: Chatrium Hotel is open all year.

Location: The hotel is located by Kandawgyi Lake in Yangon. It is 16kms, about a 20 minute drive, from the international airport.

Rooms: There are deluxe rooms and five classes of suite. In room facilities include TV, phone, free Wi-Fi, alarm clock, safe, hot drinks maker, minibar, dressing gown, slippers and hairdryer. They all have a balcony and views of either the city or lake, and an en-suite bathroom with a selection of toiletries. Deluxe rooms are 40sqm in size, club deluxe are the same and come with access to the club lounge. Corner deluxe rooms are larger at 55sqm and have windows on two side for panoramic views. Suites range in size from 61 to the 300sqm of the royal lake suite.

Activities: Sightseeing and shopping in Yangon, visiting museums and galleries. The hotel is close to Kandawgyi Nature Park, a popular recreational venue. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus service to major sites.

Facilities: The hotel has 3 restaurants (see below). There is an outdoor swimming pool and sunbathing area, a gym and spa. pool bar. You can buy souvenirs at the shop in the lobby. The club lounge, for guests staying on floors seven to nine, provides drinks and business services.

Dining: The Emporia Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers multi-cuisine dining. There are specialist Chinese and Japanese restaurants both open for lunch and dinner, and snacks are available in the lobby lounge. In room dining can be arranged.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: There is only a low risk of malaria in Yangon.

Communication: There is free Wi-Fi internet access in rooms and communal areas.
