The Tivoli Eco Resort Praia do Forte is a large ocean-side resort set in tropical gardens with an excellent range of facilities. The three restaurants offer a choice of cuisines and dining styles from formal a la carte meals to casual pool-side snacks.
There are several swimming pool, one of which is reserved for adult use, and you'll have access to a variety of watersports. Tennis, football and beach volleyball are all popular, and you'll be able to take part in pilates, spinning, yoga and dance sessions. The resort has a Kid's Club to keep youngsters busy.
If you're seeking something more akin to relaxation you should visit the spa where trained therapists offer thalassotherapy, hydro-therapy, massage and pampering beauty treatments. You can also strolls through the gardens and spend lazy hours on the beach, lying back on a daybed at The Ice Bar as you succumb to total relaxation.
There are about 300 rooms, all en-suite, divided into several categories. They are decorated in different colour themes and all make use of natural wood and have large glass doors that let in lots of light. Each has a private terrace with chairs and a hammock for secluded downtime.

Location: Tivoli Eco Resort Praia do Forte is on the Atlantic coast north of the city of Salvador in Bahia state. It is in an ecological reserve. The nearest airport is Luis Eduardo Magalhaes International, a 45-minute drive away. The hotel is close to the fishing village of Praia do Forte.
Rooms: There are 287 rooms in total: 80 premium rooms, 133 master rooms, 54 master spa rooms, 19 deluxe suites and 1 presidential suite. All have private bathrooms and terraces and are air conditioned. In-room amenities include cable TV, direct dial phone, Wi-Fi (pay locally), minibar, safe, hair dryer and range of complimentary toiletries. Deluxe suites are larger and have dressing and living rooms, while the presidential suite has a dining room, Jacuzzi and private garden. There is 24-hour room service.
Activities: The resort has a watersports centre, tennis courts, football pitch and a volleyball court. There are yoga, pilates and spinning session and a gym for private workouts. Dance classes and hydro-gymnastics are available. There’s a games room with playing cards, backgammon and chess sets.
Facilities: There are 8 swimming pools including one exclusively for adult use. The resort has 3 restaurants: Goa offers Bahian cuisine, Tabareu has a tapas bar and grill, A Sombra do Coqueiral specialises in Mediterranean dishes. There are 2 bars, one pool-side which offers snacks and drinks and the other on the beach. The spa has several different areas each dedicated to a specific treatment such as facials and beauty therapies, thalassotherapy, massage, saunas and other relaxation treatments.
Dining: There are several restaurants (see above) providing a choice of cuisines and styles of dining. Meals are eaten at individual tables.
Children: Children of all ages are welcome. The Careta Careta Kids’ Club offers a programme of entertainment and activities for 4-12 year olds. There’s a children’s playground, toy room, swimming pool and restaurant. Special family activities can be arranged. There is a baby sitting service.
Health: Bahia is not a malaria area.
Communication: There is a computer and Wi-Fi internet access in the guest rooms and public areas, to be paid for locally.
