Casa do Amarelindo is a splendidly restored 5-storey 19th century building in Pelourinho, the historical district of Salvador, a UNESCO World Cutlural Heritage Site.The hotel faces Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints Bay) and is near a number of bars and restaurants. It also has easy access to local beaches and to the islands of Itaparica and Morro de Sao Paolo.

There are 10 guest rooms offering spacious accommodation and decorated to reflect the local Bahia culture. All have modern ensuite bathrooms with hydro massage bath or rainfall showers. The rooms are air conditioned and also have ceiling fans. Other facilities include a minibar, TV, DVD and CD players and free internet access. Most rooms have views of All Saints Bay and some also have a private terrace. The doors and windows are well insulated from the lively streets below, ensuring a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.

Casa do Amarelindo is the only hotel in Pelourinho to have a swimming pool with views of All Saints Bay. Guests can relax here, sunbathe or rest beneath sunshades while enjoying views of the bay and the lower city. There is an indoor fitness centre for those craving more exercise. Drinks and snacks are served around the pool. The adjacent panoramic terrace also enjoys magnificent views and in the evening it doubles as a bar, serving cocktails against the background of colourful sunsets. The main bar is located downstairs in the 2 cool interior patios. As well as a range of drinks, the bar serves delicious Brazilian tapas. The restaurant specialises in local dishes, using freshly caught fish and seafood and meals can be taken indoors or out on the terrace. There is a good choice of wines, mainly from South American countries. Breakfast can be enjoyed in various parts of the hotel, including the terrace, pool or in your room. It consists of fresh fruit and juices, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, dairy products and a cooked meal.

Location:  Casa do Amarelindo is located in the Pelourinho district of Salvador, facing Baia de Todos os Santos (All Saints’ Bay). There are domestic and international airports in Salvador.

Rooms:  There are 10 en-suite rooms in standard, superior and deluxe categories. All are air conditioned and have ceiling fans, TVs, DVD and CD players, minibar and safe. Bathrooms feature a hydro massage bath or rainfall shower. One room has been modified for disabled access and some rooms are interconnecting. Superior and deluxe rooms have verandas or balconies. Some deluxe rooms can accommodate up to 4 people so would suit families.   

Activities:  Exploring historical Salvador and the atmospheric Pelourinho district, shopping, visiting local beaches, taking boat trips to nearby islands. The hotel can organise bilingual guides to lead a variety of tours in and around the city. Guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the hotel’s many seating areas, inside and out, and take a refreshing dip in the pool.  

Facilities:  The hotel has a rooftop swimming pool, a solarium and a fitness centre equipped with a selection of cadiovascular machines. Guests can relax in the 2 interior patios or the lovely panoramic terrace with views off All Saints’ Bay and its islands. Pelo Bistro, the hotel’s restaurant located on the ground floor, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with dishes to suit all tastes. Breakfast can be enjoyed in a number of locations including the restaurant, by the pool, on the roof terrace or in the privacy of your own room.  The bar serves a range of drinks, including the caipirinha, the classic Brazilian cocktail, plus tapas dishes

Dining:  Meals are taken at individual tables.

Children:  Children aged 14 years and over are welcome.

Health:  Salvador is not a malarial area.
