Qorokwe Camp opened in December 2017 and is located in a superb elevated setting overlooking the lagoon in this prime game viewing area of the Okavango Delta.
The acacia woodland and floodplain areas in the Qorokwe Concession are home to a wide variety of game including prides of lion, giraffe, zebra and buffalo. Daily game drives, guided nature walks, night drives, bird watching and seasonal boating activities provide ample opportunities to explore the area and enjoy its riches.
The eight tented suites are luxuriously appointed in a contemporary style with a nod to tradtional African art. Sliding doors across the front of each room open on to a large deck with daybeds. Inside there's lounge with a sofa and coffee table, and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding tub and shower plus an outdoor shower. There is one larger unit designed with families in mind and with the added bonus of a plunge pool.
The main communal areas are simply stunning, with attractive timber decks, spacious shaded interiors, sofas suspended from the ceiling and a water channel flowing along the front of the deck. The whole structure is set on stilts for far reaching views of the lagoon. Decked pathways link the dining area, lounge, library and bar. The swimming pool and deck is the perfect place to rest between safaris, as you slumber in the sun and enjoy some gentle exercise. Steps from the main area lead down to the large paved deck with its central firepit that comes into its own after dark when guests gather to share stories by the flickering flames.
