Muchenje Safari Lodge is a privately owned and run lodge situated at the western boundaries of the famous Chobe National Park, overlooking the Chobe river and floodplains. This area is much quieter than the eastern part of Chobe giving you a more exclusive experience.
The lodge consists of 12 elegant guest rooms, a dining room, a small bar and a swimming pool. There are also viewing decks and platforms and a gift shop. Each en-suite room is exquisitely furnished with an African ambience and the private balconies offer stunning panoramic views over the floodplains.
Activities at Muchenje include game drives into Chobe National Park in open 4x4 vehicles, boat cruises on the Chobe river, guided bush walks and night drives. Guests can also visit nearby villages to learn about the local culture.

Location: On an escarpment in the Chobe Forest Reserve, west of Chobe National Park, north Botswana. The lodge is 8kms from the Ngoma Gate of Chobe National Park. It is about an hour's drive from Kasane, through the national park.
Rooms: There are 12 thatched en suite safari bungalows, including a 2-storey family suite for 4 guests, also used for honeymooners. All rooms are air conditioned, have charging points and spacious private decks.
Activities: Game viewing is unlimited here! You can go on game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles, night drives in the lodge's private concession using a spot light to catch a glimpse of the nocturnal creatures rarely seen. Boat cruises on the Chobe River give an excellent chance to see large numbers of elephant coming down to the water's edge to drink, wash and play. Walking safaris, village visits, and dedicated family safaris are also available.
Facilities: There is a swimming pool, bar, dining area, and curio shop. There are also several viewing decks dotted around the property overlooking the river. There is also a reference library and a small gym. Guests can also use the complimentary laundry service which Muchenje offers.
Dining: All meals and drinks are included in your stay and are served as buffets.
Children: Children aged 8 and over are welcome, under 8s are considered on request.
Health: This is a malarial area.
