7 days from £1905pp plus international flights.
On this short safari you'll be seeing three of the very best game regions in Botswana and possibly in the whole of Africa. You'll be in a small group (maximum 9) and will have the same driver-guide throughout the holiday, so this promises to be a sociable and enjoyable safari experience.
You'll be staying in mobile camps in private camp sites. All camp chores and duties are performed by the crew, so you won't need to do a thing, just let them look after you, leaving you free to concentrate on the animals, landscapes and having a good time. You'll have a roomy canvas dome tent with camp beds and bedding provided. Your tent will have an ensuite bush toilet and shower.
This is a three centre holiday, so you aren't constantly on the move and in each destination you have a full day devoted to wildlife viewing activities. Drives between camps are fairy long, but they take the form of game drives, so the journeys are all part of your safari. The vehicle is an open 4 x 4 safari vehicle and is large enough for everyone to have excellent views. Your guide is at the heart of the holiday. His experience and expertise is key to the success of the trip and you can be assured that these will be 7 of the best days of your life.
NOTE: Here we have described the northbound itinerary, but it is also done in the opposite direction too. Please check with us which date is in which direction if this matters to you.
The safari starts at 07:30 when you meet your guide and the other group members at a pre-arranged location in Maun. You'll set off on the drive to Moremi Game Reserve. This will take 6 hours with time for comfort stops and game viewing en-route. It's a good time to get to know everyone and the time will fly by. When you arrive at the private campsite everything will be ready for you. You'll have time for a shower before enjoying a tasty dinner cooked over the camp fire. As the holiday starts so early we recommend you book the previous night's accommodation in Maun. We can do this for you. Lunch, Dinner
You have a full day to enjoy looking for game in Moremi. It is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful reserves in Africa. Situated in the central and eastern parts of the Okavango Delta, the reserve has over 400 species of birds, while black and white rhino have been reintroduced making this a Big 5 destination. You'll be exploring on land by 4x4 vehicle and on water by mokoro. The latter lasts about 2.5 hours and lets you get closer to birds and animals, guided by your expert poler. You'll return to the camp for meals and to rest between activities. Full board
It's an early start as you depart camp after breakfast for the journey to Savuti in Chobe National Park. This is 120km and will take between 5 and 6 hours and will be filled with game viewing. Savuti is a drier region with broad plains. In recent years the dry Savuti Channel has begun to flow once more, which is changing the landscape and attracting animals which could not exist in the drier conditions. It's common to see large breeding herds of elephant here, as well as buffalo, and predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. On arrival at camp you can freshen up and have a scrumptious dinner. Full board
You have a full day to enjoy game drives in Savuti. This area has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa including all the major species such as giraffe, elephant, zebra, sable, kudu and buffalo. Bird life is abundant, too. Your guide, who by know will know the favourite animals and birds of each member of the group, will help you make the most of your time here and is on hand to give information about the flora and fauna and answer any questions you may have. Today you continue your northward journey to the Chobe River. The drive will take about 5 hours as you follow the winding river, all the while keeping your eyes open for wildlife. It's a lengthy journey of some 5 hours, but you'll arrive at your new private campsite in time to rest and enjoy a drink before dinner. Full board
Another magnificent day of game viewing dawns. The waters of the Chobe River floodplain attract wildlife in large numbers and you can expert to see herds of buffalo, zebra and elephant.
