Kwara Camp holiday reviews

"Good - atmosphere wasnt anywhere near Meno a Kwena which we'd just arrived from. The local people work there are not owners, don't love it, it's a job and they're there for 90 days then 25 off. there is no phone reception nor is there internet access - it's truly off the beaten track which is great but the camp wasnt quite as good as could have been. it wasnt as homely as could have been. the manager didnt eat full meals or show much interest in the visitors like other places we stayed. the spirits cupboard was locked and you had to get unlocked to get wine. we were offered a choice of when to eat our dinner last night at honeymoon suite and we asked for an hour to get showered after our drive but manager said 'no' and gave us half an hour. There wasn't same spirit there. Food was great and they catered for my wheat intolerance. There was a scorpion in our tent the third night - we got upgraded on our third night to honeymoon tent. there were holes in it and a light was left on for them to serve us dinner. it is furthest from the main lodge and I would NOT recommend anyone to stay there as our first tent had amazing view better than honeymoon tent. It was under a tree and on concrete rather than up on stilts. The guides at Kwara were the best. Friendly and informative. Were very very respectful and considerative of our prefernces and fears!!! George and Bate were very knowledgeable of the local flora and fauna and understanding of the animals and their behaviour. They knew our comfort zones too and were kind."
