Khwai Tented Camps is part of African Bush Camps and is a perfect example of a local community living in harmony with wildlife. The Khwai area is just north of the Moremi Game Reserve and has some wonderful game viewing, especially along the Khwai river. The area is known for predators and you may have sightings of leopard, wild dogs or lion, though none of this is guaranteed. The camp has a pretty scenic setting on the banks of a lagoon which flows into the river. None of the structures are permanent, meaning they can be removed leaving no footprint. It's a simpler life in harmony with nature.
Khwai Tented camp is small and intimate, with just 7 tents in the style of the old 'East Africa Meru' accommodation with a contemparary twist. The large walk in safari tents have comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with showers and flush toilets . Rustic luxury is the best way to describe this camp! An authentic African safari experience sleeping under canvas but with comfortable facilities.
From here you'll be offered day and night game drives, walking and visits to the local village and when water levels allow you can enjoy the quintessential Delta experience with a mokoro trip.
Open: Open all year.
Location: The camp is located within the Khwai Community Concession, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The camp is set on the edge of a lagoon which runs into the Khwai River. The camp is about a 30 minute drive from the Khwai airstrip, which can be reached from Maun and Kasane.

0"Excellent. Delightful staff, great food, wonderful guide. Jeep safaris meant we were able to travel over quite large areas to see different animals. Our guide, Gideon, was keen to ensure that we saw what we wanted and was very knowledgable. Often there were other vehicles at viewing areas but this wasn't a problem, we were too busy watching the animals! Staff provided excellent meals with a different experience on each of the 3nights we were there."
