When surrounded by acres of salt, what better material to use to build a hotel? That's precisely what they have used to build Palacio de Sal. Contemporary and elegant architecture combined with finishing touches of dark wood and colourful fabric bring the hotel to life. Strategically placed wood burners bring warmth and cosiness to the main areas.
There are 30 cosy and unique rooms, some are igloo shaped but each has all the comforts you would expect from a modern day hotel including heating to ward off any chill. A lot of the furniture is also made from salt, the bed heads, some chairs and bedside tables, these are complemented by pieces of woodenfurniture and colourful throws and cushions, breaking up the pale complexion of the room and adding a homely warmth.
The windows in the dining room provide a framed view of the stunning salt flats. It's a perfect location to enjoy the innovative meals prepared by the chef using local, traditional ingredients. There is also a bar and games room with a pool table, but if you prefer a more relaxing past time then why not access the viewing platform via the spiral staircase for a 360 degree view of your surroundings - spectacular! For those wanting further pampering there is a spa offering treatments along with a steam room and sauna.
