Damchen Resort is a 35-room hotel set on the banks of the Punachu River, a short walk from the town of Punakha. The hotel is surrounded by pine forests and guests will appreciate the tranquil setting after a day's busy sightseeing or trekking.
The guest rooms combine modern design and Bhutanese architecture. They are equipped with TV, 'phone and modern en-suite bathrooms. Rooms facing the river are more spacious and have either large floor-to-ceiling windows or balconies. The restaurant serves a variety of cuisines including Bhutanese and Indian, which can be enjoyed inside or on the open-sided canopy terrace overlooking the river. The cosy bar is a good place to relax and chat to fellow guests. The hotel can arrange cocktail parties and a camp fire in the gardens by the river.
The hotel is conveniently located for exploring the sites of Punkha, which is a short walk away. Guests staying here have opportunities to visit cultural sites and go trekking the the Punakha Valley.

Rooms: The 35 guest rooms are spacious and equipped with modern amenities, such as TV, phone, safe, minibar and tea and coffee makers. All have en-suite bathrooms. The standard rooms are quite small, but the river-facing rooms are larger and some have private balconies.
Activities: Visiting the famous dzong of Punakha, exploring the Punakha Valley and local villages. At the hotel guests can stroll along the riverbank and in the garden.
Facilities: The hotel restaurant serves Bhutanese, Chinese, Indian and continental dishes. Meals can also be eaten in the open-sided canopy terrace. The bar offers a good selection of Bhutanese and imported drinks. Picnics and parties can be arranged in the garden by the river. There is a conference hall and a business centre. The reception is staffed 24 hours a day.
