Help me plan my trip

    On Safari in Kruger

Our Unforgettable Experiences pages are written by Tribes clients. They tell us in their own words what they really felt about the things they did and places and people they met on their holidays with Tribes. Hopefully this will help you when it comes to trying to decide where to go and what to do.

We'd like to thank everyone who takes the trouble to write one of these Experience reviews for us. This is a new part of our website since February 2010, and we hope they will be added to quickly over the coming months.

      • Had a whale of a time!
    3. Walking in the Green Season is always more challenging as the wildlife is dispersed but it was just great to be out in the bush savouring it's smells and appreciating the birds and smaller things. On the game drives we saw a diverse range of wildlife from wild dogs to a black mamba - overall excellent ......we want to back in the dry season to see how different it is and to experience the sleep out which was thwarted this time by stormy weather.

    3. Game driving in Sabi Sand is an experience not to be missed. The limit of 3 vehicles per sighting means that everyone gets a good experience of even the rarest sights, and you may be lucky, as we were, to have a leopard to yourselves for well over half an hour. The guides are friendly, knowledgeable and determined to give their customers the best experience possible. Elephant Plains Game Lodge is small, so the service is personal, and the food is excellent. We arrived after the afternoon game drive had left; a jeep met us at the airstrip and took an hour and a half to get us to the Lodge. The next day we realised we had had a private little game drive, the actual crow's-flight distance could be covered in 5 minutes! The chef also accommodated my upset tummy without any difficulties.

      • It was OK
    3. Whilst we were in the Kruger Park there had been so called controlled burning, but much of the vegetation had been burnt but we were able to see all the 'big five' and were lucky enough to see all five on our last game drive. We did see wild dogs which was the top of our list for animals to see.
