Help me plan my trip

    The people of Kenya

Our Unforgettable Experiences pages are written by Tribes clients. They tell us in their own words what they really felt about the things they did and places and people they met on their holidays with Tribes. Hopefully this will help you when it comes to trying to decide where to go and what to do.

We'd like to thank everyone who takes the trouble to write one of these Experience reviews for us. This is a new part of our website since February 2010, and we hope they will be added to quickly over the coming months.

      • Had a whale of a time!
    3. The driver/guides and staff of the lodges were all very friendly and helpful. The trip to the Masai village in Amboseli was interesting (if expensive) and the displays they put on at Siana in the evening were entertaining and impressive. The only minor issue was the hassle of people trying to sell to you every time you stopped at a checkpoint or in traffic but in a country so poor this is to be expected.

    3. The visit to the manyatta of the village at Sabuk was brilliant - unrehearsed and we just saw whatever was happening (milking a camel as it transpired), and being invited into the home of the senior wife and shown things. The girls had very red eyes on returning (and it wasn't just the smoke).

    3. We wanted to experience the people, nature and wildlife at ground level and we certainly did. The welcome and hospitality we encountered was first class and we were made to feel at home and not just another tourist.

    3. The Maasi who work in the camps are incredible people - polite, helpful amd with a wealth of knowledge. I particularly enjoyed my walk with them and learnt so much about tracking animals and the use of local plants.
