- It was OK
Trouble is we used to live here 30 years ago when it was a more friendly, less crowded place. Some of the time - especially at the airport, got the impression they don't want you and your dollars! Won't say any more in case I sound like a miserable old git!

Our drivers were very knowledgebale and helpful and everyone we met was so friendly. We loved seeing all the animals and birds at Mvuu and Marataba. Kayaking, snorkeling and the sunset cruise on Lake Malawi were highlights.

Really enjoyed the local atmosphere on Likoma Island - a perfect safe place if you want to get involved with the local people though you have to be patient and expect to take loads of photos of the children!

We wanted a beautiful and romantic getaway and we got it. Malawi and Africa is paradise anyway and Kaya Mawa allowed us to experience this beautiful country from a beautiful place. Also we were very happily surprised to be met at the airport with an information pack with our names and 'honeymoon' on the front which made us feel really special, like it really was a honeymoon!! Those extra touches meant a lot to us, and still do.
