    May should be the start of the floods reaching the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It is also a particularly gorgeous month for Zambia, and Morocco is still lovely at this time of year.

      • Very good time to explore the Kalahari (not oppressively hot).
      • The Okavango Delta begins to flood. Start of the best season to visit this area.

    • Galapagos

      Galapagos

      • Palo Santo trees start shedding.
      • Waved Albatross begin egg-laying.

    • India

      India

      This is a generally good month for wildlife in India. It is very good for spotting tigers as the heat means less vegetation for them to hide in. For example:

      • Corbett (elephants and tigers)
      • Kanha and Bandhavgargh (tigers and birds). 

    • Morocco

      Morocco

      • This is a particularly pleasant month for Morocco. Mostly still green, and not too hot. 

    • Tanzania

      Tanzania

      • The migration is mostly in the west of the Serengeti (though be aware that this is also rainy season).

    • Zambia

      Zambia

      • Rainfall permitting, Victoria Falls is in full flow.
      • Start of the best season for visiting Zambia, particularly South Luangwa. 
      • Excellent for seeing the Shoebill Storks in Bangweulu Swamps.
