Tribes Travel, 12 The Business Centre, Earl Soham, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP13 7SA, UK
Tribes is delighted to be able to offer volunteering opportunities abroad. We’re currently offering placements in:
We are working in partnership with an excellent company for this, people and places. They are a leading volunteer placement organisation, and in 2009 won the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Award for Best Volunteering Organisation.
We know they are the right company for Tribes to be working with as our two companies have very similar ideals and ethics in our working practices.
It is mainly for people over 18 years, though we can also take younger people if they are accompanied by family members. There is no upper age limit.
It is for people who are willing to give some of their time, expertise and enthusiasm to give a helping hand to the communities we work with.
We will look carefully at your career and life skills to show you how you might be able to help with one of our projects, so don’t assume that just because you’re not a teacher or medical practitioner etc there will be no options for you. Complete your ‘Life Story’ after registration, and we will advise you as to how you might be able to get involved.
people and places will deal with you directly for all aspects of the volunteering as they are the experts on this. It can take up to 2-3 months for a placement to be agreed.
Once your volunteering is arranged, Tribes takes over to arrange the travel aspects of your volunteering trip as required. This might be as simple as flights and a couple of nights’ accommodation, or it could be accommodation throughout your stay. You might also decide to take a holiday after (or before) your volunteering period, and we can arrange that for you too.
In order to keep things transparent, you will be paying for each element separately. The travel element will invoiced from Tribes, but the volunteering will be paid partly to people and places and partly directly to the project.
