At Napo, we were locked into one guide only for the entire stay, and had to eat with them and others who in his group. This limited our exposure to other naturalist guides, and to other people at the lodge, so much it felt isolating. Their policy of eating and being guided by the same guide for the whole trip was a real isolating downer, and limited our experience of meeting others, talking about cross cultural life and politics, and was a big dissatisfier. Napo needs to allow more mixing it up at dinner and on excursions.
Second to none! The Napo Wildlife Centre project is just incredible. Built by local people in a pristine and most beautiful location, managed by local people and benefitting the local community.First-class service, first-class programme! You couldn't possibly ask for more! Outstanding experience overall, cannot recommend it more!
A beautiful location, high standard of accommodation, excellent food. Our guide David was excellent. The only adverse comment we could make is that group sizes were very variable, some as small as 2-3, while we were in a group of 8 for 3 days, with a family including 2 teenagers, who would clearly have preferred to be on their own.
