Met all our needs - I thought there was a swimming pool and was thrilled to find it was at the next door camp Mara Intrepid. I was dreading the pool. All meals were a delight - food was delicious and beautifully presented at all times.ALL the staff at Mara were courteous, helpful and caring at all times (my wife had broken toes so could only walk slowly to and from the tent when dark and had to be helped in and out of the vehicles - they kept telling her there was no hurry, just take your time). The atmosphere is magical at Mara Explorer, sitting on the deck and at table, overlooking the river in the evening with the sounds of the night all around was really the best bush experience we have had in 30 years.

Although you sleep in a tent in the bush - accommodation is excellent and more than comfortable - you will be surprised - do not make the mistake I did on the first night and mistake a hot water bottle in my bed for a snake - yes very embarrassing! The food is excellent and surpassed all my expectations. 4/5 course meal lunch and dinner, freshly prepared to a high standard - I still cannot believe how chef did it. A HUGE thank you to Mariana (host / manager of the camp) and her team for their warmth, caring, professionalism and friendship. Thank you all very much - you certainly have a formula for success, in my opinion.
