Relaxing two days at end of trip as no game drives necessary. Lovely rustic tented camp, again with excellent food and amazing river views - great bucket shower! Loved the 'hide', spent 3 hours in there watching zebra, elephants etc etc. Great time sitting around fire in the evenings. Could be disappointing if not mixed with more remote camps due fencing of farming areas etc.
This was our true bush experience and we loved it - outdoor showers and all. The huge numbers of zebras coming to the river to drink were the icing on the cake. We laughed a lot with our hosts, Doc Tor and Tsogang, who took such care of us.and made us so welcome. The accommodation was bush-style but very comfortable and the food was very good. Our guide and the bushmen walk made it such a worthwhile experience.
Excellent. The location amazing. Food lovely. Brilliant accomodation - gorgeous. Truly out in the bush. The staff appear to love it and engage and socialise with the guests. The game drive was a full day which was too long though. The guide followed an elephant when it was getting a bit annoyed. The actual situation of the camp is not as we were told tho. We were under impression it was actually in the salt pans and we'd see meerkat, desert lion (maybe) and cheetah and various other species you'd find in the desert. We were under distinct impression we were in either the kalahari desert at the salt pans and we were about 100km from salt pans and therefore we did not see these animals or have even a chance of seeing them. The only thing we saw different to what we could see other places was a few species of antelope that were not really what we went to see!!! We loved meno a kwena and dont want this to seem like a complaint but it is an observation and we did feel we were mis sold this camp.
This camp is absolutely stunning! Possibly the highlight of the holiday was sitting in the plunge pool with a cold drink watching elephants coming down to drink and play in the river down below. The skill of our guides Max and Steven in tracking down lions was particularly impressive.
Camp delightful with very helpful staff who again coped with our diets very well.
Loved the tent and bucket shower - view over the river and zebra herds was magical. No mosquito net though we were informed mosquito€™s were not a problem.
We enjoyed an interesting walk with Max the guide.
Excellent eco concept, the best food here even though mostly cooked open fires. wonderful views over Boteti river & huge herds zebra & wildebeast. Great place to relax and unwind. Hosts great & saw few other tourists. Enjoyed our bucket showers by moonlight! No mosquito nets.
What a fantastic camp and David inspirational. I loved the shower service and our guide, Mex, had a fantastic sense of humour too. Never seen so many zebras and elephants playing in the river was a sight I doubt I'll ever see again.
