    12. All our guides and drivers were very knowledgeable, pleasant and professional. At Flame of the Forest Lodge, Kanha, Dansing, who was our driver/tracker was absolutely brilliant - he seems to be able to read the tigers' minds and know where they will be and which way they will be walking!

    14. Particularly in terms of the local people, the lodges at Chambal, Bandhavgarh and Kanha provide employment. Tiger tourism is probably the best way of protecting tigers for the future

    16. The experience of being driven through the towns and villages was a real highlight - the people, the markets, the animals, the countryside ...

    3. Dushyant took us to a Hindu festival at nearby temples which was a wonderful experience of the real India. Food at the Lodge is all buffet style so it was often quite cold by the time we ate. Lodge grounds are lovely and the boat trip on the Chambal River was excellent - a not-to-be-missed experience for birders.

    3. Karan and Isa are excellent hosts and our cottage and its location by the river were wonderful. Dansing and Mohan are superb guides. Candlelit dinners are one of the features of this lodge but the lighting is too low to be able to see the food properly! The service is excellent and we would love to return to Flame of the Forest.

    3. Great atmosphere - pre- and post-dinner gatherings around the outdoor fire were great fun. Food was superb - the best we encountered on our holiday. The treehouses are great fun but there are big gaps between the boards and, when the temperature drops to minus 2 degrees at night, they get very cold! Our guide (K) was excellent and took the trouble to show us the caves and statue in the National Park.

Don't even think about missing this!

    2. The Taj Mahal lives up to all the hype - it is a magical building and the experience of seeing it is quite emotional. Even if there is no sun at dawn it's still worth the view in the mist

    3. Tigers are not easy to find so when you see one the experience is fantastic! More moving than seeing lions, etc in Africa because the tiger is so powerful, yet so threatened. Bird watching in the Chambal area is excellent
