We had a fantastic time. Kaya Mawa was everything we were told it would be. It was luxurious, the food amazing, and the whole experience meeting up with Wilderness Safaris at Lilongwe, getting the charter flight, and then getting one after to Mzuzu was a real adventure. We looked that the trip was true luxury but also very different and off the beaten track.

Definitely positive. For one, Tribes knew where Malawi was on the map!! The knowledge of the region, the lodges, and Africa in general was really different than anyone else we spoke to. We worked the trip around getting back to a village I had volunteered in, and Dee (our Tribes lady) knew everything I was talking about. We couldn't have done our honeymoon like this without the superiour knowledge from Tribes.

Kaya Mawa allowed us to experience such a beautiful country from a beautiful place to stay and to this effect it was everything we wanted. The charter flights as well were far better than we expected. We had expected it to be fine but it turned out this experience added to the feeling of how lucky we were to be someplace so remote and we were pleasantly surprised here.

I thought that it was very evident from speaking to the people at Kaya Mawa how much work the lodge does in the community. So many of the people staying at Kaya Mawa made donations to the local school and everyone regardless had talked about their experience walking around Likoma Island in the community. Holidays such as this create a demand for a lodge in the middle of nowhere, providing stable jobs to over 100 people on a remote island who otherwise might not be employed. I was glad that my money was going to that.
