    8. Yes I would say overall very good. Thank you for helping us with firming up on our decision making and patience with our indecision. From a standing start of little idea of what to do or where to go you provided an excellent itinerary. Everyone at each camp was well informed as to our arrival and departure and transportation to next destination.

    12. They were all extremely good, and very knowledgeable on all aspects. I hadn't realised that there were guiding exams that they could and indeed had to take to get good jobs. This included the animals, birds, reptiles, trees, plants, geography, habitats, landscapes, clouds, constellations, local people and their culture.
In addition, they were all skilled drivers, while also spotting at the same time; kind and attentive (stopping if they realised a picture was being taken); actively enjoyed the company of children; careful without the suffocation of health and safety regulations in this country (my 9 yr old son was allowed to ride on the roof of a landrover with one of the spotters for a 30 min drive on quite bumpy tracks in Laikipia - the delight in his face was palpable- and in the same place the guide made him a bow and arrows over the afternoon "siesta".
Most were also very well informed and keen to discuss the politics of the country.
Daily itineries were, although planned, quite flexible.

    14. We felt your ethos was very much born out in the places you chose for us to stay, and these in turn were confirmed by talking to the people on the ground. Particularly the Porini camps were reported by the guides as being very good employers, and the managers were well regarded. Although we regard ourselves as being extremely fortunate and privileged to be able to stay in such camps, nevertheless it felt very good that our simply being there was helping the local community and providing employment. Also of course the camps were very eco-friendly with a very low carbon footprint. Their link with the conservancies was also very obvious and mutually beneficial.
    15. Other comments

    16. We felt we had benefited personally from a week's acclimatisation to the country by staying with our friends in Nairobi. This allowed us to get an understanding of how ordinary Kenyans live (just going shopping, driving through the streets etc). We did meet some people who had been whisked straight from the international flight to a charter flight to the camp and thence to albeit lovely but slightly unreal atmosphere of a safari camp.
Of course this largely unavoidable, but possibly a day in Nairobi ( or Mombassa or wherever) might help people appreciate the holiday more.
Of note, the schools were shut for the holidays in August which was a slight disappointment and probably ought to mentioned on your website information for the lodges.

    3. All of our children (3 girls 19,17,15 and a 9 yr old boy) got a tremendous amount from the holiday and are keen to go back at some stage. Our eldest who is doing Teacher training is already looking at websites for working in the country. My son has said "best holiday ever".

    3. The visit to the manyatta of the village at Sabuk was brilliant - unrehearsed and we just saw whatever was happening (milking a camel as it transpired), and being invited into the home of the senior wife and shown things. The girls had very red eyes on returning (and it wasn't just the smoke).
