    6. Glad we went, learnt so much but found the altitude and 'Peruvian tummy' challenging at times!

    10. We learnt a lot about the country in past and present, from our guides. Peruvian people very friendly. Scenery as stunning as hoped for, even in dry season. Inca ruins were more impressive than photos.

    12. Lima - pleasant lady, well organised, efficient. Very knowledgeable of city, history and gold museum. Had a thorough tour.
Juan Carlos Duenos - tour of Cusco, Sacred Valley & Inca Trail - excellent. This young man was superb. Very knowledgeable about everything. Kept group together in spite of there being 3 nationalities and very different speeds of walking. We learnt a lot from him.
Puno - Angel - good, answered all our questions, coped with change of itinerary etc.
      Drivers - all excellent throughout.

    14. Sandoval Lake Lodge making real effort to be eco friendly. Impressed by lack of motorised transport. Include local families as much as possible. We took biodegradable soap, shampoo as recommended but question what is happening to the waste water.
Some local people benefit from tourism. We bought souvenirs on Uros Islands as they seemed to have no other way to make money.
Porters benefit from earning a reasonable wage to supplement their farming.
Tourism is providing money for protection programmes for animals/regeneration of rainforest.
    15. Other comments

    16. Food on the Inca Trail - far too much! We felt guilty at leaving so much when it had all been carried and cooked so well, but 3 x 3/4 course meals and walking after them was quite difficult.

    3. Jungle not as frightening as anticipated (wildlife). The whole food chain and layers of life from floor to canopy are so much clearer now. Amazing experience.
