    6. We were very helpfully advised in the planning of our trip and any queries we had were always kindly and fully answered. The very high level of efficiency shown in the planning and preparation stages and throughout our 4 week trip greatly impressed us. Not one slip up!
Our holiday was exactly what we wanted and was wonderful!

    8. We received all details we hoped and asked for and found our consultant and his spoken and written comments correct and very helpful. We would book with Tribes again.

    10. The holiday exceeded our expectations. We were surprised by the very high level of efficiency and excellent communication between the various parties organising us. We hadn't anticipated many of our hotels being places to see and experience in themselves and throughout our trip the guides we had were very knowledgeable and very easy to understand.

    12. We used many guides and representatives in 4 weeks of travelling around and all were efficient, friendly, and keen to help. They were fluent in English and understandable too. The drivers were an impressive group, very safe in difficult and often very lively and unpredictable situations.

    14. This is a very hard question to answer. We were undoubtedly spending money in India which hopefully benefitted individuals and local communities and the economy generally. As to the environment they must use a huge amount of water etc while the locals are using the local well but perhaps the presence of hotels encourages the development of a basic infrastructure for such things. As to wildlife those involved in the parks and conservation argue that without tourism the plight of the tiger etc would be worse.

    16. A big thank you to Tribes. we had a very good and very memorable time.

    3. Food in adjoining restaurant excellent and reasonably priced. Location of hotel wonderful and room with beautiful lake view very comfortable. However hotel reception staff not very friendly nor interested in helping out with various queries etc.

    3. The hotel though originally beautifully decorated came across as rather 'tired' and in need of refurbishment and this was underlined in the handbook in the rooms not being up to date with restaurant times etc. Some of the staff in the restaurant were aggressive and they all seemed in need of good leadership and their uniforms looked in need of renewal. We were also unsettled by overhearing two guests complaining of 'the smell' [which was strange in the big lobby area] and refusing to stay and they weren't well dealt with by the duty manager.

    3. The location was wonderful - right on the Ganges - though we were led to believe that our room rather than some of the public areas would have a river view. The building was interesting and full of curios and the food was good and very reasonable though enforced group dining isn't for all! However our room was very small and basic and the shower area needed a very long hard scrub and we seemed to have a permanent leak from somewhere. We observed a room changeover which was less than thorough and that fitted our general picture of the cleanliness of the place. We were there during Holi when the staff offered a much reduced service without any warning and we had hoped for a safe haven from paint throwers but that was not to be.

    3. The owner/manager is a complete character and he and his staff entertained us as well as providing a very high standard of care which was well thought out. They are very committed to conservation and local welfare and it comes across in their thought and deed.

    3. The room we had during our first stay was excellent but on our return we had definitely been demoted! The food was good but expensive and the restaurant staff good. The other staff we found supercilious, disinterested and inefficient so, for example we were charged for things we hadn't used and an early wake up call didn't materialise.

    3. Our room really was a tree house hideaway in a living tree as were all the other rooms - wonderful! But the place generally seemed to us to have so much potential that wasn't being realised and this seemed to affect all the staff who seemed to be floundering. Better mangement required!

    3. The staff came across as very caring and accomodating. One of us was ill while there and they did all they could to help. The general level of cleaniness and comfort was very high and though the building was very modern it had been well planned and had beautiful gardens.

    3. We thoroughly enjoyed the colonial style of the place being amazed to find a bathtub sitting in the middle of a huge bathroom in the middle of the jungle! The staff were if anything rather too helpful but the overall standard was excellent.

    3. By road it's hard work even with personal drivers and guides and the distances are long but so worth it because we got such a good view of the countryside and its people. Our plane journeys worked very well and efficiently and saved time and the train journeys are a 'must' though we are not eager to repeat the experience in the near future! Do take your own food and drink and be prepared for delays.

    3. Tigers viewing is by no means guaranteed and perhaps too much emphasis is put on spotting them to the detriment of appreciating the beauty of the parks and all the other life they have to offer. good change from the frentic life of the cities.
