    6. We always give our safaris a "mark" out of ten when we return from a trip. Out of twenty or so that we have now been on none have scored less than eight. This trip was a resounding ten!

    8. Julie's first hand knowledge of the area we were travelling to enabled us to plan the locations carefully and more importantly in choosing the best time of the year to visit so that we could see the animals we wanted to see.

    10. Very much so. We wanted to see the very elusive African Wild Dog. By going in July they are denning so do not move very far until the pups are older. We were even able to go hunting with them on three of the four nights we were there - Now that is an experience I would challenge anyone to forget!

    12. All the guides were excellent. They were not only knowledgeable about the animals but were also experts on the flora, fauna and insect life.

    14. I find it difficult to make a balanced assessment. The people certainly were passionate about the wildlife and the environment but we did not meet any other local people other than the few who looked after us in camp.

    3. The only ones we met were those employed in the camps who, without exception, were a joy to be with.

    3. The Delta was a great experience. The water levels, exceptionally, were not dropping due to heavy rains in Angola so big herds of animals were not on offer. The camps were full though as most people were there to see the Wild Dogs.

    3. We arrived at the Meerkat's den about an hour after daybreak on a very chilly morning to find that our hosts were not yet up. About ten minutes later the first nose appeared out of the den soon followed by the rest of the family. Eighteen Meerkats eventually had gathered around us using us as a warming pad and a lookout post and stayed like this for the next hour before heading off to forage.

Two days later we visited another but smaller group. The bonus this time was that this group had youngsters who had only emerged above - ground two days before! They were as comfortable in our presence as were the adults and stayed in our company for about an hour. Out trip was timed so that we could see Wild Dogs and their pups who den in July. Little did we realise that we also would see Meerkats and their young and out of our many wildlife experiences this trip comes second only to being in the presence of Mountain Gorillas. Don't delay in booking your place as the camps are small and accommodation is limited.
