Goa
Back
Goa is a former Portuguese colony and well-known for its miles of beaches and a relaxing laid-back atmosphere, quite unlike any other part of India. There is good seafood here and Goa is the home of the vindaloo. Over the last twenty years five-star hotels have moved in to cater to the increasing flow of both Indian and International tourist. In the process some of the old world Portuguese flavour has been diluted, but it is still a great beach holiday destination. There is a local saying that time moves more slowly in Goa and it is certainly a place to chill out - and make sure you leave your impatience at home!
