Holiday review by Alan Jones

Name: Mr. Alan Jones
Date of trip: 24/04/2015
Number of people: 2
Country: Peru

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "It was everything and more we had hoped for. We couldn't fault any part of the planning and are so grateful to you for bringing all the aspects together."

Tribes Service: "All our dealings with Tribes went very smoothly and all our questions were answered quickly. We would certainly recommend you to anyone planning to go on a similar trip."

Guides: "Our guide in Peru was an absolute pleasure to spend time with. You could tell almost immediately how passionate he was about his country and its history and kept us interested and motivated on our long and challenging trek to Machu Picchu. Our guide in Quito although only spending a few hours with us was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and gave us good information and ideas about what to do with the time we had to ourselves. You could tell the guide in the Galapagos had been trained to a very high standard just to become a guide. He was as passionate about the wildlife as we were and gave us really useful information at almost every site we visited. Spending a whole week with someone is not always easy but he kept his talks fresh and something we looked forward to every day. "

Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Excellent"

Accommodation

Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport
It was perfect for what we needed after a long journey to Lima. A nice bar and restaurant, a comfortable bed and only 100 yards from the airport.

Casa Andina Plaza
A very welcoming hotel close to the main square. Excellent and helpful staff who were always concerned about how we were dealing with the altitude and having Coca tea at the ready.

El MaPi
A great hotel with large rooms and comfortable beds which were really welcome after our long day walking to Machu Picchu. Very enjoyable evening meal and a nice breakfast to set us up for the day.

Patio Andaluz
This hotel had real charm and spacious rooms over two floors with a nice restaurant in the central courtyard. Close to several nice squares and restaurants.

Beluga
A great boat with a very professional and helpful crew. Outstanding and plentiful food and surprisingly spacious cabins. We would recommend anyone travelling to the Galapagos to try a smaller boat. 16 was a perfect number to share our experience with and the Beluga was the perfect boat to do it on.

Finch Bay Eco Hotel
A very nice hotel with the added bonus of a pool. Not many hotels in Puerto Ayora have them. Large rooms with a hammock on the deck to relax in. The only downside was how expensive food and drink was. A two minute walk to the Angermeyer Waterfront Inn found the same food and drinks at exactly half the price. You can guess where we spent most of out time.

Our Memories

"After an all day trek in hot and humid conditions the moment we reached the sun gate to see Machu Picchu for the first time was a moment we will never forget. My wife got a little emotional having realised a lifelong ambition."
"The Galapagos Islands are one of the hardest places to describe to someone who has not been lucky enough to visit. The memory of how close you can get to the amazing wildlife will stay with us forever."
