Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Well organised, included all we had asked for and more."
Tribes Service: "Only difficulty was the paperwork said to confirm the flights within 72 hours. I tried to do this but could only get a response in arabic. When I rang Tribes I was told this is no longer required."
Guides: "Our guide was very good. At times we knew he was re-interpreting slightly, but he was informative and interested in chatting to us. We were puzzled that at Jerash and the Citadel all the script was in Greek not Latin and he could not explain this. He muddled the times a little but it didn't matter for us - he persuaded the mosque to let us in, we went back later to the motor museum and for the theatre in Amman we had visited another one very recently and seen the one at Jerash earlier that day. He also arranged for us to have lunch with local families - one a Druse family and one a villager in Dana. We enjoyed our regular stops for a cup of tea but others might not. We visited a couple of places with shops but did not feel under any pressure to buy. Our driver was brilliant - a very careful driver who also discussed things with us at times when the guide was not there."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "We supported Dana reserve; I think I would give this a miss if organising again and the birds at Ashraq were almost non-existent. Our guide did know a fair bit about birds as he had been a guide at Dana, but had not understood we were particularly interested. Also most of the birds at Dana were in the campsite area which had closed at end of October."

Our Memories

"Just walking along the canyon and seeing the Treasury at Petra. Some one asked me if it was like the Taj Mahal, however much you are expecting it to be out of this world, when you see it, it is much more than can be described."
"The rock formations in Barragh Canyon, in Wadi Rum, they cannot be described as there are so many shapes making pictures for each person to spot."
