Accommodation

Mountain Lodges
In light of the location and inherent logistical difficulties the tea-lodges provide comfortable, although very simple accommodation. With the exception of one (which was a little too rustic for us!) we were certainly comfortable enough and able to get the much needed good nights sleep. We did however both get ill whilst trecking, although we suspect that was more to do with the water than the tasty food provided.

Kantipur Temple House
This is great hotel, very centrally located with excellent facilities and great attention to detail (down to provision of hot water bottles during the colder nights). The breakfast was great and the staff attentive. Having also eaten there on our first night we can highly recommend the traditional cuisine.

Gaun Ghar
This is a beautiful characterful hotel in a lovely setting. The staff at were particularly affable and keen to please. The food they served was excellent (although rather too voluminous in quantity!). Providing us with a silk scarf and tiki on departure was a particularly nice touch.

Fishtail Lodge
Our room here was first class, and a pleasant relief after the more limited facilities of trecking! The location is lovely, the gardens beautifully tended and the service second to none.
