Discovery Tours
Every now and then we decide to go and check out a new country or an area of a country that we don’t know so well but feel that clients might enjoy. We put together a discovery itinerary and someone from our company is chosen to take the tour. Often it is one of the directors, Amanda or Guy Marks.
A small number of places are open to our clients to join us on the tour. So if you like a bit of adventure, are flexible, and don’t mind that things might not always go to plan, consider coming with us!
The last discovery tour we arranged was to Bhutan in October 2012. Guy was accompanied by 6 intrepid travellers eager to see something of Bhutan, and willing to 'wing it' to some degree!
Here are some of the comments we go back from that trip:
Trip was great & we enjoyed the group thing even though it's something we don't usually do. Can't believe how much we packed into a week in Bhutan !
1. Overall level of satisfaction - excellent.
2. Overall view of holiday - quick, intense, too much driving (not Tribes fault) otherwise very interesting, captured flavour of the country.
3. Experience booking with Tribes: As with our Ecuador & Galapagos trip, a positive one.
4. Expectations - Yes, what we expected though possibly too many Dzongs & monasteries but generally very few negatives & a good group.
Enjoyed archery, hot stone bath & cookery demo at this hotel.
Guiding, driver + vehicle all get 10 out of 10. Tashi was simply tremendous !
Adventure & Activity - walking to Tiger's Nest and rafting in Punakha both 10 out of 10 for scenery & enjoyment. Tiger's Nest is a 'must do'.
So if you think we might be able to tempt you on one of these exploratory trips, keep an eye on this page for future trips.
Possible future destinations we have in mind include Congo, Ethiopia and Costa Rica. But where do YOU think we should be considering?
