Kalamu Star Bed Camp is set in the Luamfwa Concession in the southerm sector of South Luangwa National Park. The emphasis here is firmly on the environment with guest enjoying walking trails by day and sleeping under the stars at night.
The accommodation consists of beds set on three individual raised platforms, some three metres above the ground. Each bed is protected by a mosquito net but is open to the fresh air and the sounds of the bush, for an authentic safari experience. There is a private bathroom on each platform with hot and cold running water.
Meals are taken in the dining area located on the banks of the Luangwa River. In the evening there is an open fire here, where guests congregate and chat over the day's events. There is a separate lounge tent where guests can relax, out of the heat of the sun. The main activity is walking safaris led by experienced guides along the many trails in the area, but there is also the chance to take game drives.
Kalamu Star Bed Camp can also be booked as part of the Kalamu Walking Trails from Kalamu Lagoon Camp.
