Gems of Zambia

Take in three of Zambia’s best national parks: South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and North Kafue, which are are all different. The lagoons and riverine woodland of the Luangwa, the escarpment and water experience of the Zambezi, the miombo woodland and vast open plains of North Kafue are contrasting and all host exceptional game. The camps are small, personal and owner run. This is a spectacular safari through Zambia - through remote areas, with dedicated guides and excellent game.

Only available in the dry season with shoulder season rates June and October and peak season running July - September. Huge range of wildlife from the elusive leopards and wild dogs of Luangwa to the masses of hippos of the Zambezi mixed with the fascinating swamp plains of Kafue with it's herds of thousands of antelope. Internal flights and road transfers between camps and parks are included.

Best time

June - October, the main dry season, is when wildlife begins to congregate at the dwindling water sources, offering good viewing opportunities. October is the hottest month, with temperatures sometimes reaching 40°C or more.

Getting there

There are several direct flights each week from Europe to Lusaka. It is about a 10 hr flight. There are also daily flights to Johannesburg (South Africa) which connect to Zambia. We can arrange the internationals from the UK and all connecting flights. Most journeys in Zambia involve internal flights as road travel is difficult on poor roads and is not recommended in most cases. There is a good network of internal scheduled flights and charters.Return flights to Lusaka from the UK start from about £500.

Pricing guidelines for Zambia

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless airlines have special offers). Zambia combines well with Malawi and Botswana.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
