Luangwa Forever - Conservation and Community Safari

A chance to support the excellent community work of Norman Carr Safaris and make a real difference to the lives of the people and wildlife of South Luangwa National Park. This is an eight night safari spending three nights at Norman Carrs base lodge, Kapani then five nights in a selection of their fantastic bush camps, deep in the heart of the park.

For the 3 nights at Kapani, you will visit and can take part in several excellent projects incluidng the Yosefe School, Kakumbi Health Centre, the Norman Carr Safaris Tree Planting Project, a local workshop for recycling paper and elephant dung into cards and also learning about the South Luangwa Conservation Society and Chipembele Eduation Centre.

Game drives in the afternoon and evening will also be enjoyed whilst at Kapani and $300 per person from this holiday is a direct donation to conservation and community work in South Luangwa.

Guests are invited to bring books for Yosefe School Library as well as sports and school equipment. There is a unique chance to support the life changing work of SEKA - a local theatre group working in HIV Aids awareness raising. For an extra $250 guests can sponsor and attend a performance of the incredible musical drama - Sankani Moyo about Voluntary Counselling and Testing for HIV Aids in one of the most remote rural villages.

As well as spending time in the company of some of Zambias finest guides, there is also chance to meet Rachel McRobb - charismastic CEO of South Luangwa Conservation Society, Steve and Anna Tolan of the Chipembele Wildlife Education Centre and hear about the work of the Africa Wild Dog Conservation Project.

Pricing guidelines for Zambia

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless airlines have special offers). Zambia combines well with Malawi and Botswana.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £150
