About Waterberry Lodge

  • Close Panel

Sited on the edge of the river, 30 mins drive from Victoria Falls on the Zambian side, Waterberry Lodge offers a basic but comfortable retreat in lovely quiet gardens surrounded by trees, a haven for birdwatchers.

There are just 7 rooms, including a honeymoon suite, all having private viewing decks. Some look over the river and others a small lagoon. The rooms are chalet style made of stone and thatch with mosquito nets and are all en-suite. There is a swimming pool and lovely bar area with views over the water. Dining is al fresco whenever the weather allows.

One activity a day is included such as a visit to the falls or a sunset cruise. Adventure activites and excursions must be seperately booked in situ.

Cultural visits to the nearby village and school can be arranged and local people are involved here, both being employed by the lodge and supplying materials and groceries.

Pricing guidelines for Zambia

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless airlines have special offers). Zambia combines well with Malawi and Botswana.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £150

Waterberry Lodge has a fabulous feel about it, very relaxing and homely, it's certainly my favourite place in Livingstone. The lodge is located on the river front, and the rooms are like miniature thatched cottages. It has a very traditional English feel about it. Lovely food, lovely staff, truly fantastic in every way. I honestly can't rate it highly enough. When staying here, a real must is the sunset cruise. The guiding is fantastic and it's a real treat to be bobbing about the Zambezi, G&T in hand, watching the glorious African sunset. Waterberry is one not be missed!
