Sausage Tree camp is located on the banks of the Zambezi River, at the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park, Zambia. This exclusive safari camp featured on the BBC’s Holiday Ten Best programme and is the epitome of bush chic. Sausage Tree Camp combines the very best game viewing with traditional safari style and the highest standards of luxury and service.
The camp’s French trained chef creates cuisine from his bush kitchen that has given him the reputation as one of Zambia’s finest chefs. Three course meals are prepared and enjoyed under the African sky, with white linen and atmospheric candlelight.
Accommodation at Sausage Tree Camp consists of six Bedouin-style white canvas tents, each with private open-air bathrooms, with running hot and cold water and flush toilets –and all loos have views! Local materials are utilised to create a minimalist style in which the reddish brown teak furniture, including sumptuous four-poster beds, contrasts crisply with pure white fabrics and flowing white mosquito nets. Each tent has its own personal Muchinda (butler) to attend to guests’ every whim. Elephant and other game frequently walk through camp, allowing guests to enjoy game experiences from the comfort of their tents.
