    About Chundukwa River Lodge

    • Close Panel

Situated on the grassy banks of the Zambezi River just 25km upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls, Chundukwa has elevated open-fronted chalets with stunning views of the Zambezi River, Chundu Island opposite and the Zambezi National park across the River. The lodge is located in a game-rich area and sightings of hippo and elephant, among other animals are common.

There are five en-suite chalets all raised with deck views over the river and surrounded by trees and the sounds of the wild. They all have fans and mosquito nets. There is a family unit (with two bedrooms), 2 twin or double rooms and 1 honeymoon suite.

A sunset cruise and a visit to the Falls is included in the rates.  Good home cooked food using fresh Zambian ingredients is offered here and special dietary requests can be cated for if notified in advance.

Guests have the option of canoe trips from lodge ranging from 2 hours to 2 days! Overnight camping trips on the Zambezi by canoe can be arranged.  horse riding is available nearby and there is a wide range of all the usual Livingstone activities, bookable locally too.

Activities on the river and around the Falls are the main focus of Livingstone with everything from white-water rafting & abseiling the gorge to a sedate river cruise are available here. There is a small national park –Mosi oa Tunya –which is home to Zambia’s only Rhino and worth a visit if you have time. Mosi-ao-Tunya National Park is a Unesco World Heritage Site.

    Pricing guidelines for Zambia

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless airlines have special offers). Zambia combines well with Malawi and Botswana.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
