About Gorilla Forest Camp

  • Close Panel

Gorilla Forest Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp nestled in the mist-swathed rainforests of a mountainside next to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is on the outskirts of Buhoma village, very close to the Bwindi Forest HQ from where gorilla treks into the forest begin.

Gorilla Forest Camp has been designed to blend into the environment. Accommodation is in 8 double tents, raised on wooden platforms, each with en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, toilet, basin and bathtub looking out onto the forest. Each tent has a spacious wooden veranda where guests can relax, enjoy a private meal and absorb the exotic mystery of the surrounding rainforest.

Gorilla Forest Camp offers a bar and dining cottage overlooking the rainforest, as well as a raised natural platform for open air dining. There is also a campfire. There is a mini spa on site offering massages using products from the Africology range.

Its elevated position means that it's quite a hike to get up to the camp (a lot of steep steps), but if you want a top quality place to stay in Buhoma, this should be one of your top choices.

Pricing guidelines for Uganda

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £500 to £700 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Uganda combines well with Rwanda and Kenya. Please note that gorillas permits add on about US$500 per visit. We charge these to you at the time of booking.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
