Excellent chimp trekking forest south of Murchison Falls.
Take your gorilla safari in the forest at Bwindi - it is proper jungle! This ancient forest is set on the steep slopes of the Albertine Rift Valley and boasts richly diverse vegetation. There are over 200 different species of trees, which are hung withvines. Thick undergrowth and huge nettles vie for light between the trees so it is not surprising that it has been nicknamed Impenetrable.
Kibale is one of the few places in the world where you have the opportunity to track chimpanzees in their natural habitat. There are around 700 chimps in the park and the Uganda Wildlife Authority have worked with researchers to enable some groups of these chimps to become accustomed to seeing humans. These habituated groups are wonderful to watch, though it must be remembered they are not tame or captive animals.

A beautiful remote lake, dotted with tiny islands, in the far west of Uganda. An excellent stop over between the gorilla parks and Kampala and offers places to chill out and enjoy the scenery or canoeing, walking or bird watching.

One of Uganda's smaller national parks but well worth a visit with a mix of lakes and plains and fantastic for bird watching. Game drives, walks and boat trips can be enjoyed here and it is within easy reach of Kampala and ideally situated for a stopover between the capital and the gorilla parks to the west.

Lake Victoria is the biggest freshwater lake in Africa and forms a natural boundary between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. At over 67,000 sq kms, it is twice the size of Wales. Famously the source of the mighty River Nile in Uganda which takes the waters of Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean, Lake Victoria is known locally as Nyanza.

Mgahinga is set in the most stunning landscape which provides an incredible backdrop for a gorilla safari. There are nine freestanding volcanoes here, three of which dominate the horizon. One is Mt Gahinga and the others are Mt Muhavura and Mt Sabinyo.

This national park takes its name from the magnificent waterfalls o the Nile within its borders. The park is Uganda's largest, and an increasingly good wildlife viewing spot.
QENP is the main safari destination for those looking for a broad range of mammals in Uganda. The park covers around 2000 square kilometers where the Mountains of the Moon (the Rwenzoris) and the deep jungles of central Africa meet the rolling grassland plains of the East.
Ruwenzori Mountains National Park is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Ruwenzori Mountains of Uganda. Within that area are waterfalls, lakes, glaciers, and some impressive mountain peaks.
