SilverBack Lodge has a great position in Buhoma, next to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Set quite high up, it has fabulous views down the valley and over the adjacent forest.
It is a long low building housing a main public area with lounge and dining rooms, and seven bedrooms. The rooms are simply but well furnished and have everything you need for a comfortable stay, including beds with mosquito netting over them, lockable doors, and en-suite bathrooms with good showers (hot water).
The rooms are all attached to each other, but with the exception of room 1 (the closest to the public section) we did not find that noise was an issue. Room 1 is right next door to the lounge area, so if people are staying up chatting this can be heard.
The food here when we visited (March 2010) was truly superb, and the staff were all friendly and very professional.
If you want to stay in a building (as opposed to a tented room) whilst you are in Buhoma, SilverBack is a good option to consider, and it's at a good price in comparison to many other alternatives here.
