About Maramboi Tented Camp

  • Close Panel

Maramboi Tented Camp is situated in a beautiful location on the shores of Lake Manyara, just 18 km from Tarangire National Park. It is set in a 25,000 hectare concession area run by the local Maasai community.

The spacious tents are on raised decks spaced out each side of the main lounge area, each with en-suite facilities and a private verandah. There are either twin or king size beds with lighting provided by solar power. The bar and dining area has views across to the Manyara shore and the bush beyond. There is a swimming pool at the end of a viewing deck overlooking the plains.

Activities here include game drives, guided walking safaris, cultural interaction with Maasai and Datoga tribes, sundowners, bush breakfasts, and birdwatching (there are more than 300 species in the area). There is a wildlife reference library and wake up calls in the morning with tea or coffee.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £150

  £150 to £300

The style and setting of Maramboi is great and it's a good option for being outside of Tarangire as it's not far from the park entrance and the views to the lake are lovely.  The rooms were light and airy though a bit shabby in decor and the food was terrible, but I'm happy to say that I think things have improved since my stay!
